What was your first job?
I worked as a coat check girl at my uncle’s restaurant in downtown Toronto.

What is your must have winter skincare product?
Such a tough question already? I love a good facial oil in the winter to lock in hydration and nourish my skin overnight.

What’s the most challenging thing you’ve ever done?
Honestly, having two children. They worry you non-stop, take up all your free time and energy and have forced me to have patience I never knew I was capable of.

Did you believe in Santa Claus as a child?
Oh yes, up until I discovered that Santa’s handwriting was exactly the same as my mom’s. It was very upsetting to learn that my dad was eating all the cookies I left out for Santa too.

Do you usually decorate your home for Christmas?
I love Christmas decorating, although I haven’t been able to do as much decorating with our house under constant renovation (going on 5 years now – what a nightmare!).

What is your favourite Christmas carol?
Does George Michael’s “Last Christmas” count? If not, then it would be O Come, All Ye Faithful.

If you could go anywhere for the Christmas holidays, where would you go?
I would love to do a cosy log cabin in Switzerland – I need snow for Christmas as long as I’m not driving in it and have chocolate nearby.

What’s your favourite pizza topping
Mozzarella for sure.

Which two things tell you that the fall season has begun?
I can no longer get away with wearing sandals without having my feet freeze and the heat goes on high in my car.

What are your plans for this fall season?
My plans for every season usually involve trying to get more sleep.

What do you love about the autumn season?
Leather jackets and turtlenecks.

What do you hate about the autumn season?
It’s too short.

Share your best memory for the autumn season?
I got married in October 2009 and it was a gorgeous autumn day.

Why did you start a beauty blog?
I wanted to share all the beauty tips and products that helped me feel more confident about myself with anyone who wanted to read about them.

What do you like most about blogging?
I love learning new things about blogging and beauty in general and I’m always looking for new products or trends to try out and blog about.

What is your greatest challenge as a blogger?
Getting up to speed with the technical aspect as well as SEO and gaining blog traffic – much more difficult than I ever thought! Finding time to blog is also very challenging.

Which country is on top of your travel bucket list?
Somewhere I won’t roast myself – maybe Iceland.

What’s the most expensive beauty product you have ever bought?
I don’t feel like any of my purchased products meet this criteria yet, but I am thinking of getting the Dyson Air Wrap, which would definitely be the most expensive.

What is the worst gift you ever received?
Probably clothes that I really didn’t like. I always felt bad to return them and ended up keeping them and never wearing them.

What is your most favourite makeup brand?
Tough question – not sure I could pick just one since different brands have different products that work well for me. Maybe L’Oreal?

A heavy makeup or a natural one?
I like to think natural, but once I start applying my makeup I end up with pretty much everything on my face, from eyeshadow to contour.

Do you believe in using anti-ageing creams
Is the sky blue? I cannot live without my anti-aging serums and treatments like retinol and vitamin C. They make a huge difference in my skin’s texture and overall appearance.

What’s something you own that you truly cherish?
My French Horn. I played it throughout senior school and high school and wanted to continue on in music before deciding on becoming an accountant. I haven’t had the time to play it since.

What is one thing that annoys you the most?
Inconsiderate or rude people.

What beauty tips do you have for our readers?

Cleanse, moisturize and apply sunscreen to your skin EVERY DAY! If you only have 5 minutes for makeup: apply a CC cream with your hands, some mascara and blush and you’re good to go!
